Amsterdam man arrested for selling drugs to undercover officer

An Amsterdam man was arrested after allegedly selling drugs to police and attempting to run away.
Joel Torres ,33, was the subject of a three month long investigation, according to The Amsterdam Police Department.
During the investigation, the suspect allegedly sold drugs to an undercover police source. When officers approached the suspect, he allegedly fled on foot.
The suspect was later apprehended and taken into custody by police.
During his arrest, officers discovered Torres had even more illegal drugs on his person, according to authorities.
Torres was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and was taken to jail.
