Amsterdam woman, 100, gets special honor

Helen Malicki, 100, was being recognized at Riverlink Park by Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara on Monday evening.

Malicki is being honored as a Woman of Distinction.

She worked at the Chalmers Factory on the south side of Amsterdam and at General Electric in Schenectady.

Malicki lived on her own until 96.

She’s receiving the recognition from Santabarbara and the Amsterdam mayor.
