Arrest made after Amsterdam fight involving gun

An Amsterdam man is accused of firing a gun during a fight.

Joseph Kellogg Jr., 27, was fighting with several people early Monday morning near a Division Street home, when the gun went off, police said.

Kellogg was arrested later that afternoon, after police interviewed witnesses. A rifle and ammunition were also found in his home.

Kellogg is charged with reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and child endangerment.

He was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and sent to Montgomery County Jail without bail.

More charges are possible, police said.
