Pittsfield man arrested in deadly stabbing

The Pittsfield Police Department arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing.
Josiah Helmer, 27, was arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing another man on Melville Street in Pittsfield. The stabbing happened at around 10:45 Tuesday night, officials said.
The victim is Clarence Jones, 42, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle reported.
Helmer was charged with murder and is expected to be arraigned at Pittsfield District Court on Friday.
