A 20-year-old Albany man is being charged in connection to the homicide we reported Friday afternoon on Hamilton Street in Albany.
At around 3:30 p.m. officers responded to the 400 block of Hamilton Street between Quail and Ontario Streets for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found 18-year-old William Sanders in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Sanders sustained serious injuries during the incident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers imminently received information about a potential suspect of the shooting that ran into 479 Hamilton Street and surrounded the home and called out to any occupants inside.
After some time, emergency services team members searched the residence and nabbed 20-year-old Brian Moses of Albany, who was hiding in the basement.
He was taken into custody, along with a 9mm handgun found inside the home.
Moses is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was arraigned Saturday morning in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to the Albany County Jail.
