Assemblyman Santabarbara introduces new bill to simplify NYS vehicle registration
A local lawmaker just introduced a new bill to simplify the vehicle registration process in New York State.
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara wants there to be a one-time, lifetime registration for non-commercial vehicles.
He says under this bill, once a vehicle is registered, owners would no longer need to renew their registration semi-annually.
Instead, the registration would remain in effect until the title of the vehicle is transferred.
He says this is a common-sense approach to make owning a vehicle more convenient and less costly.
