More than 50 firefighters battled a stubborn barn fire in Schaghticoke on Monday.

The call at 73 Main St. came in Monday afternoon and the fire smoldered into the evening.

A wall collapsed on a firefighter, but he was not hurt.

The barn and garage were destroyed. However, a nearby home where a family lives is still habitable, investigators said.

It is too early to determine a cause, firefighters said.
