Bennington man injured when car hits moose

A Bennington man had minor injuries after his car collided with a moose on Thursday.

William Slade, 56, was traveling north on Route 7 in the town of Shaftsbury at about 5:41 a.m. when a moose traveled into his path. Slade’s vehicle was totaled. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Slade was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center by Arlington Rescue Squad for further treatment.

Vermont State Police were assisted by the Vermont Game Wardens, Arlington Rescue Squad, Shaftsbury Fire Department, and Monarch’s Towing.
