The Bennington Police Department is investigating multiple acts of vandalism in the downtown area.

Police were notified on Saturday at about 7 a.m. of graffiti on the pavement of the rail trail. Officers located the vandalism, which was spray-painted on the pavement.

Other locations that were painted with graffiti were Rotary Park, Pocket Park and the back of the Vermont Supervisory Union building. All these locations are near each other.

The Town of Bennington Buildings and Grounds personnel were immediately contacted to begin the process of removing the graffiti.
