Bennington woman seriously hurt after Jeep rolls onto her
A Bennington woman was seriously hurt early Monday morning after a Jeep rolled onto her.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on SE Corners Road near Woodcock Road in the town of Sandgate.
Austin Carrier, 20, of Sandgate, was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and was towing a 1994 Jeep Cherokee with a chain. Jalen Davis, 18, was steering the older Jeep.
As Carrier began to go up an incline, the driveshaft of the 1994 Jeep broke, causing both Jeeps to roll backward, Vermont State Police said.
Both Carrier and Davis jumped out of the Jeeps. However, Davis tripped and fell and was unable to get out of the way before the 2001 Jeep rolled over her, police said.
Davis was flown to Albany Medical Center for serious bodily injuries. Her condition is unknown.
