Berkshire Bank handed out more than $1.1 million in philanthropic investments from its foundation during the second quarter.

The grants cover a wide range of projects that help foster upward economic mobility, support well-being and enhance individual success.

In total, 180 non-profit organizations received grants to help with projects.

This includes food insecurity, accessible playgrounds, empowering women and inner-city youth and health and wellness.

“Berkshire Bank understands financial support to non-profit organizations helps to sustain vital community services during challenging economic times,” said Lori Gazzillo Kiely, the foundation’s director.
