Bethlehem Police warn public of scam targeting seniors

The Bethlehem Police Department is warning the public of a scam targeting seniors.

The scammers contact residents claiming that a family member has an emergency or bail money is needed to get the family member out of jail. The scammer requests a large amount of money in cash and then the scammers will send an Uber to pick up the package, police said.

Residents who receive calls of this nature are asked to contact the family member to validate any claims and then call police at 518-439-9973 to report the incident.
