The New York State Senate Environmental Conservation Committee voted to pass the CO2 Fracking Ban out of committee.
The bill, which NewsChannel 13 first reported on last month, now heads to the Senate floor for a vote. The bill is also awaiting an Assembly vote.
It would prohibit using carbon dioxide to drill and extract natural gas and oil resources.
