Blanket made of 2,000 carnations to be draped over Belmont winner
Over 2,000 carnations needed to make Belmont blanket that will be draped over the winner.
On Saturday, a blanket of carnations will be draped over the winner of the Belmont Stakes. The blanket is filled with 2,000 carnations, which takes up to six hours to be threaded.
