Boy, 13, accused of threatening police with BB gun
Albany Police arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly making threats with a BB gun.
Officers responded to Hoffman Park at around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person with a weapon. When they arrived, they saw a boy matching the description. They ordered him to stop.
The 13-year-old lifted his shirt, pulled a black gun from his waistband and pointed it toward the responding officers, police said. He ultimately dropped the gun to the ground and was arrested.
The officers determined the weapon was a BB gun.
The 13-year-old, whose name will not be released because of his age, was charged with menacing and unlawful possession of weapons by persons under 16.
He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear at the Albany County Probation Department at a later date.
