ONLY ON 13: Heroic bus driver calls saving girl from speeding van a ‘miracle’
Brunswick-Brittonkill bus driver Barry Sullivan helped save a 12-year-old girl’s life on Tuesday.
Sullivan was just opening the door to let the girl off the bus on Route 7 in Pittstown, when a van swerved into what would have been the girl’s path.
The quick-thinking bus driver quickly closed the door and threw out his arm to stop her from getting off.
The driver of that van is now facing charges.
The girl’s thankful father said Sullivan prevented a tragedy.
Hear Sullivan speak with NewsChannel 13 about what it was like on that bus, by watching the video of Kumi Tucker’s story.
