Budget extender set to expire Monday, affecting state employee paychecks

Another budget extender will have to pass by Monday – or state employee paychecks could be affected.

Last week, the legislature and Governor Hochul passed their first extender.
However, it expires on Monday, the 10^th.
Lawmakers and the governor still have to reach a final deal.
When the first extender was proposed, the governor said she had been negotiating in good faith – but there is more work to be done before an agreement is reached.
