Building a Cancer Free Future
Chloe Yonos is a local mother of two young boys, a full-time marketing and businesses development director for MLB Construction in Malta and a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Visionaries of the Year Campaign.
It’s a 10-week philanthropic competition for leaders in local communities across the United States. Candidates and their team members raise funds for LLS in honor of local blood cancer survivors.
The title “Visionary of the Year” is awarded to the candidate whose team raises the most funds during the competition. The top Visionaries of the Year candidate in the country is awarded with the national title.
Yonos’ says this campaign is about more than just fundraising; it’s a heartfelt commitment to making a meaningful impact. Her team name is the Dream Builders.
“I came up with the name Dream Builders because I do marketing at a construction company, and for me, building the community and building a foundation of a cancer free future made sense to me,” Yonos said. “Those people are helping me, my dream builders on my team and they’ve been an incredibly supportive and helpful in my success for this campaign.”
Candidates lead their teams in fundraising and at the end of the 10 weeks, a grand finale celebration is held, and the total funds raised by candidate teams within a community, as well as the top fundraising teams, are revealed. This year’s local event is at Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady.
Yonos was born and raised in the Capital Region. She is proud to make a difference in her community and show her children the importance of helping people and making a difference.
“I just want to show that we can help anybody,” Yonos said. “I’m always about helping people my whole life and this was a great opportunity to do that and to show them that they can be involved and help people in a great way.”
