Caffe Lena hosts musicians’ health and wellness clinic

Today, Caffé Lena hosted a free pop-up health clinic for uninsured musicians.
According to recent surveys, 43% of professional musicians in the United States do not have health insurance.
Among full-time musicians with no other employment, the percentage without insurance is even higher.
The clinic included custom-fitted earplugs for on-stage hearing protection, blood pressure screenings, dietician consultation, HEP-C and HIV screenings, and more.
Sarah Craig, Executive Director of Caffe Lena, highlighted the importance of the event and the location.

It’s a chance for Musicians to come in, make sure everything’s ok, or potentially catch something early” stated Craig. Craig further elaborated that ” The reason we’re doing this at Caffe Lena is because this is a space that comfortable for musicians.”
