The Cambridge Central School District confirms its appeal of a state order to retire its Indians nickname and emblem exceeded $51,000 through the end of February.
This started back in June 2021, when the board of education first voted to retire the name.
That vote was reversed since then, and the district appealed to the state education commissioner.
After plenty of back and forth, the legal battle continues.
