Cambridge set to adopt ‘Tigers’ as new school mascot
The Cambridge Board of Education is expected to approve Tigers as its new logo, replacing its Native imagery.
The Cambridge Central School District is expected to approve a new mascot on Thursday.
The Board of Education is planning to adopt “Tigers” as the new face of the district. That was the top choice from students and residents in a recent survey.
This comes as all districts across New York state are being required to phase out any native mascots and imagery.
Officials plan to unveil a new logo by the start of the next school year, they said.
