The smoke from Canadian wildfires is once again affecting air quality in the Capital Region.

Gov. Kathy Hochul gave an update on the situation around lunchtime on Thursday.

She said the Capital Region and the Hudson Valley air quality was unhealthy for sensitive groups, while the air quality in the Adirondacks – including Warren County – was unhealthy for everyone.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Alert through at least midnight on Thursday.
