People all over the Capital Region were celebrating Earth Day by helping to clean up neighborhoods, parks, and trails.

Volunteers in Albany showed up to help clean around the African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region. The city supplied rakes, shovels, gloves, leaf and garbage bags. Sandwiches and drinks were also provided.

Organizers say that clean-ups like this help to uplift entire communities.

The goal is to make sure the area stays as clean as possible.
