Nearly one year after Capital Roots signed off on the desire to form a union, the nonprofit is now withdrawing.

Members said Capital Roots – namely Chief Executive Officer Amy Klein – has engaged in a pattern of retaliation and union busting.

They said this has led to a staff exodus, which has impacted programming within the communities.

The union has filed unfair labor practice charged with the National Labor Relations Board.

NewsChannel 13 has reached out to Amy Klein and the nonprofit for comment. We will keep you updated.

Capitol Roots organizes community gardens and distributes fruits and vegetables to areas of the Capital Region.
