Car slams into Pittsfield tree, 3 hurt

A car crashed into a tree in Pittsfield, Tuesday afternoon. Three people were seriously hurt.

It happened around 3:40 p.m. in the area of South and Broad streets.

Rescue equipment was used to free everyone. The victims were taken to Berkshire Medical Center. Their names haven’t been released.

The cause is under investigation, but the bad weather hadn’t started yet, police said.

The road was closed for a time, but has since reopened.
