Two local school communities are mourning the loss of a student.
Danielle Marceline was vacationing in Florida, when she drowned in the ocean.
She was celebrating her birthday – which was Sunday – with her family and friends in Cocoa Beach.
Danielle was a senior at Catholic Central High School. The school says Dani was a varsity volleyball athlete and a cherished friend.
She is also a former student of Lansingburgh High School. That school superintendent says a current Lansingburgh student was also with her, and was rescued by lifeguards.
The superintendent says Dani always brought a smile to those around her. He says she was a leader.
Friends of the family have setup a gofundme to help with funeral services.
