Central Avenue crash kills woman in Albany

Police in Albany are investigating a crash that killed a woman Thursday night.
It happened around 10:15 p.m. on Central Avenue near Robin Street. Police say 52-year-old Kathleen McBride of Albany was on foot when a van hit her. The vehicle then crashed into a building.
McBride was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van was taken to Albany Medical Center. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
It appears the van was driving east on Central Avenue when it crossed the centerline and hit McBride, according to the preliminary investigation.
