There are some changes planned for Schodack Island State Park.

Waterways that were filled in a century ago will be restored, said New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

The agencies say that could reverse centuries-old environmental harm, and also promote the fish and bird habitat in the area.

The agencies say the project will recreate 2.8 acres of natural habitat, and improve the health of the Hudson River.
