Child struck by car in Niskayuna is assemblyman’s son
The son of Assemblyman Robert Smullen was critically injured after being struck by a car on Thursday morning.
Smullen, R-Johnstown, said in a Facebook post that his son AJ was injured while playing with some of his friends. His son is in critical but stable condition in the Pediatric ICU at Albany Medical Center after emergency surgery.
Smullen is requesting prayers.
“Thank you for your support, AJ’s a fighter and needs all your love.”
A source tells NewsChannel 13 that Smullen’s son is the child struck by a car in Niskayuna on Troy-Schenectady Road in front of Bellevue Woman’s Hospital.
Smullen represents the 118th Assembly District, which is made up of all of Hamilton County and parts of Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery and Oneida counties.
