Civil service exam fee waived
The fee for the civil service exam will be waived starting Saturday.

Previously, it was waived for people from underrepresented populations and veterans.
But now, starting July 1 and going through December 2025 the fee will be waived for all.
Governor Kathy Hochul made it part of the budget.
She hopes that by removing the fee the state is able to remove the barrier for entry for people taking state civil service exams.
