The Clifton Park Fire Department is looking for new members to help at emergency scenes with a new type of recruiting event.

The former chief of the Clifton Park Fire Department, Art Hunsinger, says people who came out today got a real feel for the job by actually being hands on with the equipment that the town’s firefighters are using at emergencies like structure fires and car accidents.

Other things on display today included car-fire simulators and jaws of life to show people how vehicle extrications are done.

Organizers say they’re always looking for new members, and they encourage anyone interested to get in touch with their local volunteer fire department.
