Clifton Park girl, 10, recovering from lifesaving kidney transplant

Maya Charles Rivera, 10, was given the gift of a new kidney back on December 8.

She responded like a true champion: up and walking within days at Boston Children’s Hospital, with rejection medication doing its job.

The Christmas miracle came about because of another brave, selfless, and still anonymous young woman, a family member, who turned out to be a perfect blood type match for Maya.
