A Cohoes woman has admitted in Albany County Court to driving recklessly and killing two people in a 2020 Colonie crash.

Shajaine Foskey-Gause, 23, pleaded guilty on Friday to second-degree manslaughter, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

Foskey-Gause raced another vehicle on Central Avenue on July 17, 2020 at speeds of more than 100 miles in a 40 mph zone. Her vehicle crashed into another car. Najee Parks and Naquin Key were killed. Passengers in Foskey-Gause’s vehicle were injured, police said.

She had been charged with two counts of manslaughter and four counts of assault but pleaded guilty to the one manslaughter as part of an agreement.

Foskey-Gause faces 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for March 6.

Assistant District Attorney Collin D’Arcy, and Vehicular Crimes Bureau Chief Mary Tanner-Richter are prosecuting the case.
