People were enjoying the beautiful weather in Colonie this weekend as they took part in the Cops for Kids Family 5K and Fun Run.
Community service is one of the cornerstones of the police department, according to Colonie Police Chief Michael Woods, who noted the department held between 100 and 150 community events last year.
It all helps to cultivate better relationships, he said.
