Colonie home being demolished after roof collapse

COLONIE – A roof collapsed in a home Wednesday afternoon in Colonie and now the whole house is being demolished.
The woman who lives there is not hurt, but the home is completely destroyed.
The deputy fire coordinator says they got a call around 4 p.m. about a building collapsing on Corthell Street. When they arrived, crews say the roof was completely caved in.
After a professional inspection, building engineers deemed the home too dangerous not only for the people that live in the house, but also the people that live directly next door.
The woman that lives there is an older woman in her 80s. She stood by in shock as she watches everything she worked so hard for gone in just a blink of an eye.
The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
