Conviction overturned in 2019 St. Johnsville murder

The 2019 murder conviction of Daniel Nellis has been overturned on appeal.
That could mean Nellis will once again stand trial for the death of Michaela MacVilla from St. Johnsville.
The Supreme Court Appellate Division ruled Thursday that while the evidence supports conviction, the trial saw multiple instances of unchecked prosecutorial misconduct.
