Couple in 70s killed in crash outside Lebanon Valley Speedway

Two people were killed in a serious crash outside the Lebanon Valley Speedway on Saturday evening. The first call came in around 8:30 p.m

Two people were hit and killed in a crosswalk, said police, when a car traveling east driven by a 36-year-old woman from Lee, Mass. fatally struck both people.

The victims have been identified as Gary Sheldon, 74, and Patricia Peck, 77, both of Clarksburg, Mass.

Emergency workers tried to save their lives, but they were both pronounced dead on the scene.

Route 20 in West Lebanon, heading towards the speedway, was blocked off for a time.

Firefighters with Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company were redirecting traffic for over an hour.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Lebanon Valley Speedway had its 2023 season finale on Saturday night.
