Crash witnesses take stand in deadly Wilton DWI trial

Friday’s testimony in the murder trial of Justin Rodriguez included witnesses to the horrific crash that killed Alex Bleickhardt.
The trooper who picked up Rodriguez at Albany Medical Center after the September 15 crash showed his body cam video of Rodriguez ranting about guns and making racist remarks, apparently still intoxicated nearly six hours after the crash.
Rodriguez is being tried for murder, accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and crashing into and killing Bleickhardt, who was hooking up a truck that had broken down north of Exit 15 of the Northway.
Rodriguez had a .26% blood alcohol level, prosecutors said.
