An intense fire destroyed three homes in Troy on Thursday morning. Demolition crews were on scene and said they expected to tear down the buildings Thursday night.
It broke out before 9:00 a.m. on Stow Avenue.
Firefighters from several departments battled both heat and the limitations of the local water supply.
While the fire equipment can douse the homes with 5,000 gallons of water every minute, local water mains don’t allow for that, Fire Chief Eric McMahon said.
The intense fire was under control by the afternoon, but the homes were soaked, with structures caving in.
Luckily, no one was hurt. However, neighbors are left figuring out what to do.
