The Empire State Plaza 4th of July Celebration began at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The event includes a ceremony where people are becoming American citizens.

There’s also music, food and of course, the big fireworks celebration.

The huge display is scheduled for around 9:15 p.m.

There is lots of free parking available in the area – in the visitor and “P” lots under the Empire State Plaza, the Grand Street lot, and the Elk Street lot, East and Sheridan Hollow garages. However, there is no roof access in the East and Sheridan garages.

Before you go, there are a few things to keep in mind. Security is there and all bags and backpacks will be searched.

You are not allowed to bring your own alcohol, but there are plenty of vendors on site where you can buy alcohol – with proper ID. Also, glass containers are prohibited.

Guests are also not allowed to bring their own fireworks or sparklers.

The only pets allowed are service animals.

Drones are also not allowed.
