Another budget extender passed to keep state employees paid through Thursday

The New York State Legislature passed another budget extender on Monday. Now the state government will have until Thursday to finish budget negotiations and pass the 2024 budget.
If they do not finish negotiations or pass another extender, some state employees will not be paid.
The original deadline was April 1 and this is the third extender they have passed.
