A 4-year-old girl from Queensbury was bitten by a fox on Friday, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.

The attack happened just before noon at a residence on Hillside Drive. The victim’s mother took her to the hospital for rabies treatment.

DEC investigators patrolled the area looking for the fox. At around 3:12 p.m., the DEC heard reports that the fox attacked a dog on West Mountain Road.

DEC officials found the gray fox at an abandoned property and euthanized the animal.
