Two dogs saved from Pittsfield fire

Two dogs were rescued from a fire in Pittsfield on Monday morning.

The fire broke out at 565 West Housatonic Street just before 8:30 a.m.

No people were home, but a caller reported two dogs were inside.

Firefighters found the dogs behind a closed door, and led them to safety before putting out the flames.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.

The dogs were not hurt.
