Drummer wants to help others after overcoming addiction
Rock musician Josh Eppard has more than a few reasons to be grateful and content.
The drummer of the rock band Coheed and Cambria is a recovered heroin addict who now wants to spread the message that anyone can redeem themself.
Eppard, whose band took center stage at SPAC on Monday, has lived an incredible life, he said. It’s a thrilling life that many aspiring rock & rollers to reach. Eppard played Woodstock when he was 14-years-old.
He says he was living the rock and roll lifestyle when he lost his way. Eppard fell into a deep hole of heroin addiction. He got booted out of the band.
One day he realized that he needed to change. So that’s what he did.
Eppard has now been sober for 15 years. He credits his wife, Tamara, and Albany Medical Center with steering him straight and saving his life.
His story is now inspiring documentary filmmaker Jordan Forkey of 32-Mile Productions to chronicle the amazing road to recovery. It will be part of the upcoming Woodstock Film Festival.
