Eagle Bridge residents prepare for possible evacuations amid flooding

A woman got a big scare driving in the rainy weather on Monday. A tree fell on her car at Fuller Road and Executive Park Drive.

People in the Rensselaer County hamlet of Eagle Bridge are preparing to evacuate if floodwaters rise on the Hoosic River.

The water was rising fast on Monday, and was already past flood stage by sunset Monday.

Even as the rain slows down, runoff can still cause the river to rise.

Moderate flooding was expected in the area, leading to the possibility of overnight evacuations.
