“I’m overwhelmed, full of joy and happy,” Primett said.

He was supposed to go to Ukraine to teach people there how to fight in preparation for the war, but as he prepared for leave – the war started.

Primett was sent to Germany. During his time overseas, he worked with people from Ukraine.

Primett had been in Germany since July.

“It’s been about 10 months and a long time. We’ve really missed him a lot, and we’re so excited to have him home,” a colleague said.

Primett was escorted by local fire departments this evening to the East Glenville Fire Department.

“Coming down the road, seeing the trucks off the corner and just didn’t know what or how to feel. I didn’t say anything. I’m just overjoyed right now,” Primett said.

Primett went on to say he plans on spending the next few days decompressing and spending so much needed time with family and his dog, Duke.
