Mom, daughter killed in East Greenbush crash

The East Greenbush Police Department is investigating the cause of an accident that killed a mother and daughter.
The crash happened at the intersection of Columbia Turnpike and Philips Road. The two women were attempting to cross the Columbia Turnpike.
The victims were 88-year-old Rita Buhl and her 50-year-old daughter Roberta Kenney. They were both from East Greenbush. Kenney died at scene. Buhl died later at Albany Medical Center.
The driver is fully cooperating and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be involved.
Police closed Columbia Turnpike in both directions from Phillips Road to Corliss Avenue for several hours overnight. It is now back open.
