Emergency heating assistance deadline extended

The deadline to apply for emergency heating assistance is now extended.

National Grid tells us customers who receive benefits from the Home Energy Assistance Program may be eligible for up to two emergency benefits.

However, people must act quickly because the program closes on May 19.

While regular HEAP applications closed in March, emergency applications were extended through the May 19 deadline.
