Employer identifies victims of deadly Colonie fire
Victims who died in a Colonie fire on Monday have now been identified by one of their employers.
Tim and Katie Ryan died in the fire, according to Premiere Transportation. Tim Ryan was an employee with Premiere, the company said. A GoFundMe has been set up by Premiere Transportation to help the family.
A person who said he’s a family member told NewsChannel 13 the third person who died is Lynn Lyons.
Several fire departments responded to the home on Locust Park just before 8 p.m. Monday evening.
Several people were trapped inside, according to firefighters.
One of the survivors posted on Facebook that he suffered second-degree burns. He also said his mother is one of the victims who died in the fire.
Colonie Fire Company Chief Jeff Kayser told NewsChannel 13 in his 43 years, this fire was one of the worst he has ever seen. He also said the hoarding in the home made it a very tough fire to fight.
Investigators have not yet said what caused the fire.
