Equinox receives first big donation from Rabadi family nonprofit

Rabadi family makes big donation to homeless shelter

The family of a New Scotland man killed one year ago has made the first big donation from its foundation in his memory. Equinox, a domestic violence shelter received $15,000.

The first donation from the foundation created in honor of Philip Rabadi has been given to a domestic violence shelter.

Equinox received a $15,000 donation from the Phil with Love nonprofit, which was started by the family of a man who was murdered in his New Scotland home two years ago. The goal was to help people – just like Rabadi did in his work as a physician assistant.

Rabadi’s older brother, Brendan, said it is very fulfilling to do this work in Philip’s name. The loss of his brother is “immense” and the family needs to find something good and positive.

“Using his name to do this is providing that for us,” he said.

The money will go directly toward services to the victims of domestic violence.

Phil with Love is donating $32,000 to seven different charities.
